Libations was born in 2017 by friends Nick Rogers and Spencer White as a means to continue to drink strange beers in new places and escape the mundanity of the everyday and to literally and figuratively quench their thirst for something more in life. With a couple of songs in the pocket, they began their pursuit of a drummer and, after a lengthy search, landed on Robbie Valluri, local DIY hero. Robbie fit in so well that the band pumped out six songs in a month and off they went.

After a handful of months playing a dozen weekends and the occasional weeknight throughout the Midwest, the boys are releasing their first EP. The four-song cassette dynamically touches on themes of the bright future we strive for and the backs that must be stabbed in order to arrive at it, the death of close friends and the paths we follow until that detour arrives, the new shoe feeling of spending time with someone for an extended amount of time, and the almost-death of a family dog.

Self-described as dry-hopped indie rock, Libations enjoys fitting in between genres as best they can. Influenced as kids by Epitaph, Merge, and Saddle Creek, the band pulls bits and pieces from all its favorite predecessors in an attempt to create something fun, heartfelt, and uniquely its own.
